Meet Patrick

Patrick (Paddy) Ssebriumbi is the founder and custodian of Patrick Care Orphanage Home in Mityana Uganda. The Orphanage started in 2015 and serves not just the 16 orphans who live with Patrick but another 10 who live with some family member but are still under the Orphanage’s care. They also support 3 homes where elderly people need assistance and support in their homes. They also support a family with a war disabled parent. Patrick and the kids reach out to the community and engage in activities like tree planting, better farming methods, environmental conservation, proper garbage disposal and collection, well cleaning and more…

The orphanage stated slowly after Patrick found a room for himself in 2012 and started to minister to children on their way to and from school. Since Patrick was taken in by a minister when his parents died at age 3, this came naturally to him. Latter he become more aware of the extreme poverty issues of people dumping their children because they had no money to feed them. It was at this time that Patrick started letting abandon and abused children stay with him. He was barely 18 at the time.

Patrick was able to support his growing family of orphaned kids by cutting wood for about $20 a day using a donated Husqvarva saw but all their stuff was stolen when they were robbed in March of last year 2019. Since then they have been surviving making $5 on a good day fetching water. Unfortunately the water is infested with parasites (like much of the water in rural areas around the world) which cause an entirely new set of health problems for the kids. This is why the new building we hope to build will have a rain collecting roof. More on that later…
